LPIE is Helping Students Bloom!

Spring is springing and the school year is zipping right along. LPIE-sponsored Elementary School Science Fairs were a big hit, with record participation, enthusiasm and scientific discovery. Stanley Middle School alternates a traditional science expo with a Rube Goldberg competition. This year's competition was amazing, with several talented teams building contraptions to pop balloons - to the delight of a large audience.

We are enjoying the spring concerts showcasing the talents of our elementary students and dedicated Stanley and Acalanes musicians. We are looking forward to the art fairs at the elementary schools, which showcases the culmination of the year's art instruction. The fairs are always packed and fun - be sure to check one out - see dates below.

We were very pleased with the excellent turnout and positive feedback for Education Fundraising U. LPIE hosted the event at Acalanes High School and it was well attended by representatives of Lamorinda Parent Organizations and Education Foundations as well as some of our neighbors. It's gratifying to see so many people working in support of students.

In addition to all the fun activities going on, we are hard at work preparing for next year. Our Board of Directors slate is almost full and we are busy partnering with the Lafayette and Acalanes school districts to put together budgets. The first fundraising kick-off for next school year is our Major Donor Campaign, which begins in April with the arrival of a beautiful card in major donors' mailboxes.

We are now on Facebook. Be sure to "like" us and keep up to date with LPIE and community activities.
